Toss Australia chose to bowl vs India

Australia opted to bowl in the second T20I against India in Thiruvananthapuram with a couple of changes. Matthew Wade made the call hoping for dew to play a role later on, while also expecting the pitch to get better later. There was a lot of grass on the pitch, which looked dry too.

Wade made two changes to the side that lost the first T20I on Thursday, bringing in Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell – both World Cup winners only last Sunday – in place of Aaron Hardie and Jason Behrendorff.

Suryakumar Yadav said he wanted to bowl first too, since India also expected dew later. India were going unchanged in this game.

It had rained in the build-up to the match, with plenty of wet patches on the outfield on Saturday evening. However, the teams were welcomed with clear skies on Sunday evening.

This is the first time that Australia are playing at the Greenfield International Stadium, which is hosting only its fourth T20I since its first in 2017.

India lead the five-match series 1-0 after a tight two-wicket win in the first T20I in Visakhapatnam, their highest successful chase in the format.
